We are seeking to recruit three faculty members who will contribute to the goals and objectives of the University’s strategic plan.  Accordingly, preferred candidates will be expected to meet the traditional requirements of excellence in teaching, active scholarly and professional work, and service to the University and community, as well as to demonstrate interest or experience in at least one of the following strategic plan areas:  a) alternative modes of instructional delivery to include off-campus and distance learning; b) the learning process, i.e., innovative teaching strategies and/or research on how students learn and apply knowledge over an extended period of time; and c) partnership with the community to enhance social, economic, and cultural conditions.

Position #1.  The Department of Kinesiology invites applications for a tenure-track position in Pedagogical Kinesiology or teacher preparation at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will teach in Pedagogical Kinesiology and a correlate area (viz., Adapted Physical Education, History and Philosophy, Psychology/Sociology of Physical Activity, Lifetime Fitness, Motor Development, Measurement and Evaluation, etc.) including some activity   courses.  Scholarly activities are expected.  An ability to develop a profile of extramural funding is desirable.  The candidate also will advise students and serve on department, college and university committees.

Qualifications.  Earned doctorate in Kinesiology/Physical Education with a specialization in Pedagogical Kinesiology.  A documented commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level is expected. Additionally, the candidate must have correlate teaching areas.  College level teaching experience also is preferred. We especially encourage women and minorities to apply.

 Position #2.   The Department of Kinesiology invites applications for a tenure-track position in Exercise Physiology at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will teach exercise physiology, courses in the Exercise Science concentration, and some activity courses.  S/he will use the Human Performance Laboratory for teaching and research.  The laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment including, but not limited to: Quinton Electromagnetic bike, Cosmed portable metabolic cart system, Monark Arm Ergometer, Cariovis tethered ECG, Quinton PC Stress system, Physiodyne MAX-1 Metabolic system, Parvomedics Metabolic system, and Exertech Underwater Weighing.  Scholarly activities are expected. An ability to develop a profile of extramural funding also is desirable.  The candidate also will advise students and serve on department, college and university committees.

Job Description: BA in Physical Therapy req., MBA or MA in PT or related field preferred.  Advanced
C.E., current TX PT Lic., APTA and TPTA membership req., minimun 5 years experience, including clinical
experience, with 3 years in supervisory or administrative role overseeing multiple sites.  To supervise the management of specific TRC Outpatient Clinics in an assigned area in accordance with established policies and procedures, and consistent with those recommended by JCAHO, CARF and Medicare.
