Our Health Promotions intern and our Fitness intern work to assist in providing programming for our customers to participate in. Both interns will learn about the entire aspect of our business, but the focus will be towards their major. Cox Fitness Centers
Cox Fitness Centers offers interns a hands-on experience of a hospital-based fitness center. We have three locations, and students receive on-the-job experience in many areas. Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation
ELIGIBILITY Eligible students will be final semester/quarter undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an accredited health-related degree program with a significant interest in and dedication to primary prevention. Specific disciplines may include, but are not limited to, public health, health education, exercise science, cardiac rehabilitation, nutrition and behavioral psychology. Non-sponsored graduates from any of the above-defined disciplines will also be considered. The exercise physiology intern will assist all testing (VO2 max, anaerobic threshold, REE, blood chemistry, body composition) the University of Miami Wellness Center. Interns are required to develop and implement semester long project. Responsibilities include assisting with the LIFE Senior Strength Training Program, the Cardiovascular Wellness Program, and coordinating personal training clientele and provide continuing education for personal trainers. Carmichael Training Systems (CTS), the leader in endurance athletic training, invites applications for a coaching internship. Fitcorp's Internship Program is exclusively geared toward increasing the participant's knowledge in the following areas: fitness testing and prescription, customer service, developing sport-specific programs, injury prevention, sales and marketing techniques, and implementing corporate wellness programs. Fitcorp's interns receive continuing education through various avenues: training sessions, testing on fitness related topics and practices, and required reading of current articles and materials provided by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Fitcorp operates public and corporate in-house facilities; therefore, interns are exposed to both retail and corporate programs. Requirements: college juniors/seniors with a majority of required Exercise Science courses completed or recent graduates with a degree in an allied health field. CPR certification required.
